How is a quarter line split?

The arithmetic applies to goals in the market’s specified period. For one quarter-line selection, both halves normally use its accepted odds. Separate bets placed manually may have different prices.

What happens at exactly two or three goals?

• Two goals, over 2.25: over 2.0 is refunded and over 2.5 loses — half loss.
• Two goals, under 2.25: under 2.0 is refunded and under 2.5 wins — half win.
• Three goals, over 2.75: over 2.5 wins and over 3.0 is refunded — half win.
• Three goals, under 2.75: under 2.5 loses and under 3.0 is refunded — half loss.

Below both lines, both unders win and both overs lose. Above both lines, both overs win and both unders lose. A half-goal line cannot push on a whole-number goal count.

How much is returned on a half win?

A 20-unit stake at odds of 1.80 splits into two 10-unit halves. A full win returns 36. A half win returns 10 × 1.80 + 10 = 28, giving 8 units of net profit. A half loss returns 10, giving a net loss of 10. A full loss returns zero.

Half win means one half wins and the other is refunded; it does not mean receiving half of the full-win return. Keep returned stake and profit separate.

Which common mistakes should you avoid?

Under 2.75 with three goals is a half loss. Over 3.25 with three goals is also a half loss: over 3.0 pushes and over 3.5 loses. This corrects reversed outcomes in an older English channel example.

A possible partial refund does not insure the whole bet or guarantee a better financial outcome. The line, price and probabilities all matter.

Is this the same as a three-way total?

No. A three-way market may have a separate “exactly” selection. Use the accepted market’s rules, including its period and any abandonment provisions.
