Is 1xBet legal in Qatar?
Gambling is prohibited in Qatar. Article 275 of Qatar’s Penal Code makes participation in gambling a criminal offence. HostDoha has not verified any Qatari authorisation for 1xBet and does not describe it as locally licensed.
The FATF–MENAFATF Qatar evaluation published in 2023, paragraph 55, also states that the prohibition covers online casinos and gambling websites. The report describes the legal framework; it is not a list of individually approved or blocked websites.
What Articles 274 and 275 say
- Article 274: defines gambling by reference to chance-dependent winning or losing and an agreement to transfer money or another benefit from the losing party to the winner.
- Article 275: provides for up to three months’ imprisonment, a fine of up to QAR 3,000, or either penalty for participating in gambling. For gambling in a public place, a place open to the public, or premises prepared for gambling, the stated maximums rise to six months and QAR 6,000, with either penalty also possible.
These are summaries of the statutory provisions, not predictions of the outcome of an individual case. The articles do not name 1xBet or grant it an exception. See the official legal sources below.
Does website access, QAR or a foreign licence establish permission?
No. Opening a website, seeing Qatar in a registration form, choosing QAR, or being offered a payment method does not establish legal permission to gamble in Qatar. An overseas licence is not evidence of Qatari authorisation.
The distinction in this guide is between technical access, the operator’s account rules and local law. An operator’s willingness to accept an account does not override the law where the reader is located. A country name or affiliate link on HostDoha is not legal approval.
1xBet availability and age requirements
This guide to 1xBet is intended for adults aged 18 or older. Eligibility depends on the operator’s rules and applicable restrictions. A country name in a guide does not establish local authorization or availability for every reader.
